Join us. **Job Description** **AECOM** seeks a multi-disciplined transportation professional with experience in rail operations, capital design, and relationship and knowledge of internal policies and procedures at Metro-North Railroad, Amtrak, or other rail services operated in the New England/NY Metro area. This role will support a diverse range of projects, from strategic planning to construction. AECOM’s expects the candidate to be able to manage commitments on simultaneous projects, working with staff resources to accomplish tasks. The position is expected to support business development and project administration. This could include tasks such as identifying new business opportunities and assisting with responding to agency Requests for Proposals (RFPs). This position is to be based in **Rocky Hill, CT** . **Additional responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:** + Provide technical guidance for all rail service and operations planning assignments within New England. + Provide technical guidance in evaluating the feasibility of establishing new services, rail routes, extensions, and stations. + Support development and execution of significant rail/transit projects including light rail, heavy rail subway, commuter rail, high-speed rail, and/or bus rapid transit surface, aerial or underground project pursuits and delivery (traditional and alternative). + Mentor a team of rail service planners and rail systems engineers + Participate in business development activities as appropriate + Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department. + Interprets, organizes, executes, and coordinates technical assignments. + Maintains liaison with units within the organization and individuals inside and outside of the organization. + Acts independently on technical matters pertaining to the field. Work at this level usually requires extensive progressive experience. + Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. + Participates in leadership discussions and effectively communicates workload requirements. + Supports client relationships by performance, service, and effective communication. + Provide technical guidance for all rail design projects which includes assisting in staging, planning and sequencing the construction of the design. + Participate in rail systems workshops and discussions with the client. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements** + BA/BS plus 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and /or education. + Experience with and knowledge of rail services internal policies and procedures. **Preferred Qualifications** + 20+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. + Experience analyzing detailed rail operating plans (including timetables and equipment. manipulations) is required. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management skills, and attention to detail. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office software. + Experience with CTDOT, Metro-North, Amtrak. **Additional Information** **All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.** + Sponsorship is available for this position. + Relocation assistance is available for this position. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
