Rail Services Technician
System One
OVERVIEW:
The successful candidate will have previous knowledge within a maintenance and engineering environment, be an effective communicator, and be willing to assist with additional duties, as necessary. Employee performs highly skilled installation, repair and troubleshooting work involved with mechanical and electrical assemblies.
FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION:
+ Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and installation of equipment.
+ Layout, assemble, test, and install apparatus and equipment, working from blueprints schematics, sketches, verbal instructions and other specifications.
+ Preparation of the job to be be accomplished by studying any document related but not limited to assembly instructions, FMIs, blueprint specifications, as well as have a good understanding of parts lists, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
+ Align, fit and assemble component parts, using hand tools, power tools, measuring tools and blueprints.
+ Verify specifications by measuring/testing completed components
+ Install, repair and service specialized mechanical equipment, machinery, panels as well as wiring/harnesses.
+ Other duties as required and assigned
TRAINING/EDUCATION REQUIRED:
+ High School diploma or GED, Technical school or associated certifications preferred.
+ Minimum of 2-3 years industrial maintenance related experience.
+ Previous Rolling Stock experience would be a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
+ Ability to work in a high pressure environment
+ Ability to work varying work shifts (1st, 2nd and 3rd)
+ Must have strong skills in mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment troubleshooting
+ Must have strong troubleshooting and blueprint schematics reading skills
+ Must be self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills essential for day to day operations
+ Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
+ Strong Microsoft Office skills (word and excel)
+ Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
+ Shall report all injuries/illnesses to their supervisor that occur at work, the day of the incident
+ Shall report any unsafe conditions that are identified in their respective work area to their supervisor
+ Shall comply with all client safety policies, procedures, and requirements that are communicated to them, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures
+ Shall wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is communicated and supplied to them
+ Shall keep their respective work area clean and orderly at all times
+ Shall attend all client required training as soon as possible before the start of their assigned work
+ Shall NOT operate any client equipment (forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts) until certified to do so
