Electro-Wire, a GCG company, is currently seeking a Territory Sales Manager to join our Connectivity & Power Solutions division, with a focus on the Rail and Transit market. This is a remote, field-based role covering the Western U.S. ranging from Denver, CO to California with a heavy focus on California.
As our Rail & Transit Territory Sales Manager, you will serve as a trusted partner to OEMs, engineering teams, and procurement professionals—offering technical product guidance, delivering tailored connectivity and cable solutions, and building strong relationships across the passenger and freight rail segments. This role includes strategic account management, business development, and project coordination for long-term rail and specialty infrastructure programs.
As this is a field-based position, the candidate chosen for the role will be expected to travel approximately 50% of their time to facilitate in-person customer and vendor meetings.
What you’ll do
Sales & Territory Development
Drive sales growth within a defined geographic region by managing and expanding relationships with OEMs, engineers, purchasing teams, and end usersServe as the primary point of contact for project-based and contract-based business, including wayside cable systems, rail-specific cable assemblies, and low-voltage connectivity productsApply our sales process to identify new opportunities and close business within assigned accounts
Technical Sales & Support
Lead technical discussions on product specs such as compression standards, noise ratio, and environmental requirementsPresent tailored solutions and proposals based on unique rail and transit needsSupport bid activities and coordinate public procurement submissions
Cross-Functional & Vendor Collaboration
Work closely with our sourcing, engineering, and operations teams to deliver solutions aligned with customer and business objectivesEngage with key strategic vendor partners to support growth within rail and transit verticalsRelay customer, market, and competitive intelligence to internal stakeholders for strategic planning
CRM & Pipeline Management
Maintain an active and accurate pipeline using Salesforce CRMProvide regular account updates and territory reports to sales leadership
Customer Engagement & Industry Involvement
Represent GCG at trade shows, industry events, and client site visitsFoster trusted partnerships by acting as a technical advisor and solution providerMaintain high responsiveness and customer service standards throughout the sales cycle
What you’ll bring
Education & Experience
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related disciplineRequired: Minimum of 10 years in technical sales or sales management (rail/transit experience a plus)Proven experience engaging with engineers, technical buyers, and OEM project teamsDemonstrated success in territory development and consultative sales
Skills & Competencies
Strong technical aptitude and ability to communicate product specs clearlyExcellent verbal, written, and presentation skillsHighly organized with strong self-direction and time management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and Salesforce CRMAbility to travel 40–50% of the time (may be higher in the first year)
