Job Summary: To provide a safe and efficient operation of a steam locomotive as well as a safe and fun environment for our Guests.

Successful applicants will need to be able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate authentic diesel fueled steam locomotiveAbility to work with and read numerous gauges and valvesAbility to maintain keen awareness of surrounding environment with moving mechanical parts, many of which are hotObserve the ride while it is in motion for the safety of the guestsMaintain a clean work environment specific to the engine and tenderMaintain Six Flags’ Guests First StandardsMaintain a regular, prompt attendance recordOther duties as deemed necessary by the Rides Lead

What You Will Be Doing

Provide guests with a safe and enjoyable ride experienceEntertain guests and calm their nerves as they board our world-class steam trainEnforce rider restrictions and measure for height requirementsAssist guests in and out of ride vehicles and cycle through the line efficiently and cautiouslyKeep ride patios and midways clean and looking greatAct as a first responder to ride emergencies and respond appropriately

What You Will Need

A minimum of two years Six Flags rides experience preferred but not requiredMust be at least 18 years of agePossess mechanical knowledge to aid in the maintenance of the engineAbility to work in heat related environmentGood oral communication skillsApplicant must able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and reach throughout your shiftExcellent verbal communication skillsAble to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
