Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Railway Signals Design Lead/ Engineer to join our Mobility Global Business Area and work on delivering an existing and future portfolio of projects. This position can be based out of any of our Canadian offices. The position includes opportunities to develop and enhance project management skills and serve as a mentor to junior-level engineering and design staff. Must uphold engineering ethics and standards of conduct
Role accountabilities:
You will be responsible for undertaking work on North American commuter and heavy rail projects in accordance with relevant standards such as AREMA, CN, CP, Metrolinx and TTC. The successful candidate will perform design, review, and checking (up to 3rd level) for new and modified vital circuitry and application logic programs for automatic block systems, centralized traffic control, interlockings, and highway grade crossing warning systems. You will be expected to review your own work and work done by others for adherence to applicable standards, rules and regulations, as well as all applicable client standards and signal design policies and procedures and preparation of technical documents.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 6 years experience in railway signals design Professional Engineering License 5+ years experience in software for crossing applications, CTC signals applications, AutoCAD and MicroStation design Experience with Metrolinx, TTC, CN, CP or similar Understanding of CN (GI’s & SCP’s), CP (RP’s) and Metrolinx Signal Design manual, GI’s & SCP’s.In depth knowledge of applicable laws, standards and regulations pertaining to railroad and transit signal systems and highway-rail grade crossing warning systems Knowledge of AREMA C&S Recommended Practices, GCS, GCR, CROR, and industry standards Experience with LRT and/or subway signaling Experience testing/commissioning, construction, maintenance, and/or operations Rail signaling design, delivering projects for commuter rail or freight rail and experience with AREMA-based heavy-rail signal designWhy Arcadis?
