Ranger Penn Yan, NY (http://maps.google.com/maps?q=140+East+Lake+Rd.+Route+54+Penn+Yan+NY+USA+14527) • Camp Cory Job Type Full-time Description $61,000-$65,000 Annually Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Ranger is responsible for maintenance, repairs, upkeep and appearance of buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester is conveyed. Residing at Camp Cory strongly preferred. Year round housing included. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: · Responsible for maintenance, upkeep of buildings, grounds, equipment, vehicles, and roads. · Perform preventative and corrective maintenance functions for the property. · Order and maintain inventory of equipment, tools, supplies, etc. · Train and supervise maintenance and custodial staff. Assist with hiring of maintenance personnel as required. · Coordinate with the Executive Director to identify short and long term projects. · Arranges for services (refuse pick-up, phone, gas, etc.) to be performed by outside companies. · Maintain requirements for New York State Health Department and American Camping Association. · Maintain a high quality of cleanliness in all facilities. Ensure all facilities are safe for campers, guests and staff. · Work with VP of Properties on special projects and various operational issues important to the Association. · Assist with department budget development and management. · Relate to Board of Management and/or committees as requested by Executive Director. · Provides direct leadership and support for all volunteer work weekends. · Attend any required meetings or trainings. · All other duties as assigned. Requirements · Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent education is required. · Must have mechanical experience in; HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, sawyer work and electrical repairs. · Must be familiar with operation and repair of maintenance/heavy equipment. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in related areas. · A high standard of personal reliability, initiative and the ability to multi-task is desired. · Candidates must be able to work under the direct supervision of the Executive Director as well as function effectively independent of that supervision. · Demonstrated experience overseeing construction projects performed by outside vendors/contractors. · A clean New York State Driver’s License is required. · CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required or ability to obtain within 60 day of hire. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: · Ability to work indoor and outdoor in normal environment with some exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, climates, and temperature changes. · Ability to move around properties, buildings and movement from floor to floor. · Ability to lift to 75 lbs. on a repetitive basis. · Ability to bend, stoop and squat. · May handle chemicals as part of the daily operational duties. Salary Description $61,000 to $65,000 annually
