Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is looking for Rapid Prototyping System Design Engineers to join our team in Berkeley, MO.

The Boeing Fighters New Product Development team is seeking highly motivated technical integrators for a fast paced environment.  The candidate will be a part of the Fighters New Product Development team and will work with a group of diverse engineers in developing new mission system capabilities for the F/A-18, EA-18G, and F-15 fighter aircraft. The candidate must be able to span organizational silos and possess the ability and willingness to communicate with others outside their subject matter area. Excellent communications and presentation skills are a must.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Experienced and Senior Level Rapid Prototyping System Design Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

Assist Fighters Mission Systems Architects to develop future mission system demonstration concepts

Lead rapid prototyping efforts and overseeing the execution of lab, flight sim, and/or flight test demonstrations

Develop project execution plans and coordinating activities with multiple teams including Boeing, suppliers, and customer counterparts

Assist management to develop and maintain detailed development plans, schedules, and estimates

Develop briefs to Boeing and customer leadership outlining future mission system concepts

Develop white papers, perform trade studies, and provide analysis to support decision makers on assessing future system performance

Interface with Boeing, USN, and USAF leadership and stakeholders

This position is expected to be 100% on site. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

This position requires ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

5+ years of working experience with a Bachelor’s OR 3+ years with a Master’s OR a PhD

9+ years of working experience with a Bachelor’s OR 7+ years with a Master’s OR 4+ years with a PhD

1+ year of experience with systems design, integration and/or test experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Tactical aircraft mission systems experience

Experience with unmanned aircraft systems

Aircrew experience

Experience designing or testing networks

Experience with electronic warfare systems

Open Mission Systems Architecture experience

Typical Education/Experience: 

Experienced (Level 3)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Senior (Level 4)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range (Experienced): $96,050 - $129,950

Summary pay range (Senior): $119,850 - $162,150

This position is for 1st shift.
