Role/ResponsibilitiesThe Rating Manager at Moody’s Local will manage a team of lead analysts dedicated to assigning domestic ratings and publishing research for a complex portfolio of credits in Central America and the Caribbean. This role is also responsible for the ongoing monitoring of the portfolio in accordance with the relevant Moody’s Local methodology. He/she is regarded as an authority by issuers and investors at individual credit, industry levels and the country.
Direct management of lead analysts and indirect management of associates.Management of rating quality and consistency for assigned portfolio, including addressing credit issues in a timely and consistent manner and ensuring high quality ratings.Making sure the portfolio -as a whole- is being monitored and ratings are being moved at appropriate times, complying with local regulation and deadlines.Develop and implement research and outreach plans with teams; oversee and manage quality, quantity, and relevance of research and ensure timely execution of the schedule.Establish strategic direction for the teams to align with goalsImplement periodic objectives for the team/franchise; monitor achievement, provide guidance, and present results to management.Manage staff resources through portfolio allocation; review portfolio responsibilities periodically and present potential changes to managementManage analysts through training, recruiting, retention and development; identify and position marquee analysts; identify and position future managers.Implement annual communications plan; foster open lines of communication with Credit PolicyDemonstrates strong adherence to Moody’s best practices and policiesQualificationsGraduate / second-level degree (e.g. MBA, Master’s) required or equivalent strong academic background.Ten to fifteen years of relevant experience with complex financial instruments and/or accounting principles.Well-developed analytical skills.Proven track record managing teamsStrong written and oral communication capabilities in English.Ability to manage multiple competing priorities within deadlines
