Job Profile

 

The GBS Raw Material Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient supply of raw materials necessary for the site. This role involves performing monthly raw material replenishment planning, coordinating with sourcing, suppliers, and sites’ stakeholders to optimize the procurement strategies to support production schedules while minimizing costs and inventory holding.

 

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE

 

Raw material planning:

Conduct monthly raw material planning incorporating inputs from demand planning, tactical planning, operational planning, and sourcing. Communicate raw material purchase requirements to sourcing and ensure alignment and follow-up on quantity contract (QC) coverage. Assist the site supply chain in adjusting raw material plans and communicating with sourcing to ensure continuous supply and maintain service levels to customers. Perform regular review with site and regional stakeholders, on the safety stock level and replenishment parameters for the raw materials. Provide help / information required when local team faces challenges on Purchase Order (PO) creation and / or execution.

 

Business collaboration:

Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to address spot commercial opportunities that require raw material actions. Support efforts to mitigate slow-moving and obsolete inventory. Liaise with the sourcing team to provide feedback to relevant stakeholders (e.g., commercial supply chain, manufacturing, customer service, sales teams) on supplier capabilities and highlight potential supply bottlenecks for risk mitigation. Collaborate with sourcing team to manage and calibrate supplier service levels, ensuring supply schedules meet target inventory levels as per BC sourcing guidance and planning standards. Address and resolve supply issues, facilitating communication between the local planning and sourcing teams on complaints related to raw material quality, service levels, delivery performance, and supplier relationships.

 

Process improvements:

Support administrative functions and strategic initiatives, including supplier changes, alternate sourcing, and phase-in/phase-out of raw materials in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements. Lead the phase-in and phase-out of raw materials, ensuring changes are confirmed and communicated across functions. Oversee & coordinate with local planning team on raw materials planning system roll-out to enable raw materials planning via SAP system. Support continuous improvement projects related to raw materials planning scope/efficiency as needed Support efforts to optimize raw materials planning related activities/deployment plan to achieve efficiency gains for local site and relevant key stakeholders Any other duties & responsibilities to be assigned from time to time relating to raw materials planning scope/function.

 

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

 

 

Minimum or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., APICS CPIM) are a plus. Strong proficiency in English – oral and written Minimum of 3 years of experience in raw material planning, supply chain management, or a related role within the manufacturing industry. Proven experience with ERP systems and material planning software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
