**Summary**
The Raw Materials & Chemicals Category Manager drives competitive advantage, risk mitigation, supplier reliability and value creation for the designated categories. The individual will be responsible for collaborating with various business units and building effective business relations both internally and externally. Business process and industry knowledge are critical to stay ahead of developing technologies, sustainability needs and customer requirements.

+ Manage, plan, and execute Raw Materials category strategies to drive short and long-term results by leveraging in-depth industry knowledge, collaboration and influence at all levels of the organization.
+ Research, identify and engage with suppliers to meet the requirements of the organization.
+ Conduct cost modeling i.e. Total Cost of Ownership and Return on Investment to build a business case with recommendations highlighting the best value for the organization.
+ Understand value drivers and negotiate prices and business terms with suppliers.
+ Perform sourcing and RFX exercises to obtain the lowest total cost of ownership while minimizing any Supply Chain risks to the business.
+ Identify and deliver cost reduction ideas with supplier partners to obtain industry-leading solutions, drive production efficiency gains, and achieve best-in-class results.
+ Influence and partner with internal stakeholders to identify spend under management opportunities for potential cost savings and/or vendor upgrades.
+ Conduct internal and external research on supply market and competitive activities within assigned spend categories to identify supply market trends; ensures the identification of a qualified supply base and creation of effective and innovative sourcing strategies.
+ Lead supplier selection in collaboration with a cross-functional team; conducts supplier negotiations to establish comprehensive supplier agreements.
+ Work with cross functional teams to develop business cases to support process and technology changes and sell changes to key stakeholders and senior leadership.
+ Define and execute detailed project plans to establish new supplier relationships and grow existing supplier relationships.
+ Consolidate and simplify Direct Materials transactional purchase processes in North America, improving collaboration and agility among sites.
+ Promote and share best practices while providing empowerment and discipline to local organizations.
+ Optimize our alignment with Supply Planning, Operations, and Commercial organization to mitigate supply risk, and improve safety stock and inventory management.
+ Oversee inventory replenishment and purchase order processes, actively participate in weekly site meetings, and manage site-level relationships to support operational continuity.
+ Perform other related duties as required.
**Minimum Requirements**
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or similar field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
+ 5 years’ procurement experience in relevant spend categories: Chemicals, Raw Materials, Direct Materials.
+ 5 years’ experience in contracting, supplier and sourcing management.
+ Proven track record of delivering bottom-line results.
+ Experience working with Chemicals and other raw materials’ suppliers.
+ High level of adaptability to manage the changing needs of the business as they arise.
+ Ability to successfully manage concurrent projects and meet deadlines in an ambiguous environment.
+ Ability to work cross-functionally with all levels of internal staff and vendors.
+ Proficiency with tools/systems to analyze data including Microsoft Office package.
