Raw Materials Planner

Position Summary:

The Raw Material Planner will be responsible for forecasting and ordering packaging materials and other supplies required for manufacturing. Working with forecasted demand for final product, they will calculate demand for these component materials. They will coordinate with vendors to procure supplies, track dates, and resolve issues, as well as work to find cost savings and alternative vendors as needed. The individual will also work to consolidate packaging to common sizes to reduce total number of packaging components needed to be stocked.

Essential Functions:

Determines forecasted demand of packaging components and supplies

Manages lead times and orders appropriately to ensure supply

Works with vendors to track delivery and resolve issues. 

Identifies cost-saving and alternate vendors

Identifies alternative packaging when needed

Consolidates packaging to common sizes

Works with product development to identify and plan packaging for new products

Ensures supply of components to support the production schedule.

Identifies, communicates, and escalates issues and risks to supply

Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies.

Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role

Represents the company in a professional manner and upholds the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

Qualifications:

Associate’s degree or equivalent experience

Planning and/or purchasing experience preferred

Working knowledge of MS Office with strength in Microsoft Excel

Experience in ERP systems preferred

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

A strong analytical mindset

Reliable, self-starter with the ability to work with little or no supervision

Able to handle multiple projects with varying deadlines and also have the ability to adapt quickly to changing demands and needs

Required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

Required to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds

Required to possess specific visons abilities, including: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and capacity to adjust focus
