What is the opportunity?

Reporting to the Head of Advice and Wealth Governance, the Wealth Advice and Governance Senior Business Manager will directly support the Head of Wealth Advice and Governance in the achievement of Wealth Management Europe (WME) goals & objectives and ensure business adherence to corporate & regulatory requirements, through optimised risk governance and informed navigation of the RBC BD and Wealth Management risk landscape.

The successful candidate will be a senior leader skilled at analysing data, creating presentations / business cases, and leading on strategic change programmes of work for and on behalf of the department and representing the department on broader initiatives. Teamwork and cross business collaboration is an important element, and the candidate will need to be a self-starter, able to work at pace and comfortable coordinating the team to ensure productivity is efficient and deadlines are achieved. To advise, inform and support the Head of Advice and Wealth Governance in understanding the departments and the business risk landscape and to facilitate change, ensuring that the function operates within its defined parameters and that it continues to support the front offices by providing appropriate oversight.

What will you do?

Oversee the activities and productivity of the GOT within the 1st line of defence.

Collaborate with interdepartmental managers to understand and address current and emerging issues and risks that require focus and attention.

Deputize for the Head of Advice and Wealth Governance on operational matters/strategic projects and committees.

Improve functional productivity, efficiency, and overall performance of the GOT.

Enhance management reporting to deliver insights to determine root causes of issues, create tactical and strategic solutions in partnership with the client facing teams and corporate functions to improve processes/controls and update systems to improve client outcomes.

Active participation and ownership of business projects, providing constructive challenge and solutions.

Track and manage engagements with strategic vendor relationships.

Develop strategy and business plans and monitoring focus for Wealth Governance to support the groups long-term strategy and shorter-term strategic initiative.

Assist in the completion of financial budgets and forward-looking goals and objectives to align with the goals of the Head of Advice and Head of Investments for RBC BD.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Previous experience within a wealth management firm is essential.

Understanding of end-to-end business processes and technological impact on relevant areas.

Up to date knowledge of the regulatory environment and the challenges affecting Wealth Management.

Experience assisting with managing and growing a team of professionals, including team lead(s).

Nice-to-have

Experience working in a business undergoing significant change is highly favourable.
