Responsibilities

The Respiratory Care Practitioner II - Per Diem is responsible for providing respiratory care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, advanced airway management, and related diagnostic procedures. Serving as a resource for the nursing staff, this role ensures care is delivered in accordance with department and hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality respiratory care, including advanced airway management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.Perform diagnostic procedures related to respiratory therapy.Serve as a resource for nursing staff, providing expertise and support as needed.Uphold the Mission and Core Values of Community Hospital of San Bernardino through professional conduct and patient-centered care.Support the hospital’s strategic plan and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

This position requires clinical expertise, teamwork, and a strong commitment to delivering safe, effective respiratory care that aligns with the hospital's Mission and strategic objectives.


Qualifications
One (1) year previous experience as an RCP in acute care is preferred. Two (2) years of acute care experience including critical care and neonatal intensive care for lead therapist positions is preferred.Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program. Respiratory care services is pediatric department shall be provided by respiratory care practitioners who are licensed by the state of California and who have completed formal training in pediatric respiratory care which includes didactic and clinical experience.Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificationPediatric Advanced Life Support(PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation program (NRP) certification is required.  Experience in pediatric mechanical ventilation and airway management for working in the pediatric sub-acute unit is preferred.
