The Real Time Power Trader will join a growing power and natural gas desk within the commercial business at Phillips 66. Reporting to the Manager, Power & Gas Trading – Americas, this role will establish and execute trading strategies, generating income through physical and financial products throughout eastern US power markets. This role is based onsite in our Houston, TX corporate office.
Responsibilities May Include
Optimize PSX refinery electricity demand and generation assets. Schedule physical/financial power positions in Energy Trade and Risk Management system. Monitor transmission utilization. Trade incremental physical / financial power on an hourly basis. Document market activity for communication to the Power and Gas group. Analyze fundamentals via market-based information platforms. Participate in the Virtual/FTR markets. Build the P66Energy Trading LLC brand via customer relationships. Communicate market information and dynamics to trade group. Contribute to the growth in product type and regional activity.

The Commercial organization works to effectively leverage assets and market knowledge to create additional value within the risk parameters of the Company. We do this by maximizing general interest profitability, enhancing return on capital employed by successfully partnering with the Refining, Transportation and Marketing functions to ensure Value Chain Integration. Our truck and rail fleets support our feedstock and distribution operations. Rail movements are provided via a fleet of more than 10,000 owned and leased rail cars. Truck movements are provided through numerous third-party trucking companies, as well as through our 100 percent-owned subsidiary, Sentinel Transportation LLC.
