The Boeing Company is currently seeking Real Time Software Engineers (Associate, Experienced, and Senior) to join the F/A-18 Mission Systems organization located in Berkeley, MO.  This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.

Our Air Dominance software engineers design, develop, and demonstrate avionics solutions for the platforms we build and upgrade.  Your efforts will assist integration of innovative technologies to maintain our platform’s dominance over the battlefield for many decades to come.

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to join the F/A-18 Mission Systems software team and support various capabilities across Weapons systems, Electronic Warfare, Displays, Vehicle Health Management, and more.

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including: Associate, Experienced and Senior Level Software Engineers.

Position Responsibilities:

Designs, develops, tests, and maintains non-embedded software throughout the end-to-end lifecycle that meets industry, customer, safety, and regulation standards

Reviews, analyzes, and translates customer requirements into initial design of software products. Develops, maintains, enhances and optimizes software products and functionalities for systems integrations

Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software products

Debugs and resolves issues identified to ensure the reliability and efficiency of software products. Handles user inquiries, troubleshoots technical issues and user feedback analysis

Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to software development

Develops, establishes, monitors and improves software processes, tools and key performance metrics that align projects with organizational goals and industry benchmarks

Plans, executes and documents software research and development projects

Advises on software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations

Performs software project management activities and software supplier management functions

Tracks and evaluates software team and supplier performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards

Required Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

Experience with C, C++, Java, Ada, and/or Python

2 plus years’ experience working in a project where various software development methodologies are being utilizing

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics, Computer Science, or other technical degree

Software development experience in a collaborative team environment using agile principles and a structured development process including code reviews and automated DevOps processes/tools

Experience using team collaboration tools including Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, and Confluence

Experience in software development using languages such as C, C++, Java, Ada, and/or Python

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Summary pay range for Associate: $86,700.00 - $117,300.00

Summary pay range for Experienced: $107,100.00 - $144,900.00

Summary pay range for Senior: $127,500.00 - $172,500.00
