Position: Receiving and Mailroom Manager

Job Summary
As the Receiving and Mailroom Manager at the Wayne County Criminal Justice Center, you will oversee and streamline the day-to-day operations of all receiving, mailroom, cleaning supply management, and related administrative functions. You will ensure high standards of accountability, organization, and professionalism across mail delivery, vendor coordination, and supply management.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and a strong communicator—capable of managing vendor and internal staff relationships in a secure and fast-paced government facility.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the main Friedman representative at the facility dock to ensure accountability of subcontracted staff Accept and process all USPS mail, coordinate with Sheriff’s Office staff for security screening Oversee mailroom staff to ensure adherence to process standards for goods receiving and timely mail and package delivery throughout the day Oversee cleaning supply management, including inventory, ordering, delivery verification, and distribution in coordination with janitorial staff Observe, evaluate, and implement improvements to the current package delivery process in collaboration with Friedman, vendors, and Sheriff’s Office personnel Manage documentation of vendor service reports, delivery slips, and subcontractor sign-in/out logs to ensure timely and accurate invoice submission to the county Oversee janitorial staff check-in/check-out, including the assignment and retrieval of key fobs issued by Friedman Serve as the point of contact at the dock for deliveries, vendors, and subcontractors during operating hours. Assist with general delivery coordination and administrative tasks as needed.Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree preferred) 3+ years of experience in facilities, mailroom, property management, or operations/logistics-related role Valid driver’s license and proof of automotive insurance Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a secure, fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all timesPreferred:
Prior experience in facility or government site management Familiarity with managing subcontractors and vendor relations Experience processing and organizing large volumes of backup documentation for invoicesWork Environment
