Location: Morrisville, NY Category: Morrisville Auxiliary Corporation Posted On: Mon Feb 10 2025 Job Description: Receiving and Stocking Clerk REPORTS TO: Dining Services Manager DEPARTMENT: Dining Services CLASSIFICATION: Hourly | GRADE: 8 | SALARY: $16.88 - 17.83/HR. | SUPERVISES: Food Service Student Employees The Receiving and Stocking Clerk will oversee all incoming deliveries at Seneca Dining Hall and will follow company policies and procedures with receiving and stocking these items. When all orders are accounted for the Receiving and Stocking Clerk will support other parts of the operation including stocking our store, Front of the House Operations and the dish room all while following Health Department Guidelines. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Receiving + Receives and checks incoming stock for accuracy of amount and quality using vendors' invoice and departmental receiving order + Follows receiving procedures to ensure food safety guidelines are being adhered to. For example - temperature, packaging, date range etc. + When necessary, assists in loading and unloading of all trucks. + Participates in assigned cleaning and maintenance of storage areas, coolers, and freezers to ensure are in neat orderly condition. Assures that proper procedures are followed. + Unpacks supplies; dates and stores all stock in proper storage area. Rotates stock, using first-in/first-out principle to ensure freshness. + Delivers equipment, food items, and supplies to various locations using a box truck + Assists as directed with performing inventory + Does minor repairs as necessary + Assists with setups for special functions + Assists where needed to cover absences and breaks of other employees + Communicates daily with management concerning general unit conditions or concerns + Must attend food safety training as scheduled + Performs other duties as assigned Other Duties: + Reports issues to the Manager on Duty (MOD). + Operates dish machine, electric pallet jack, snow blower, and garbage disposal + Provides instruction to assigned Food Service Student employees + Bags and hauls kitchen trash to dumpster. + Cleans food preparation and production areas as assigned + Responsible for the operation and cleanliness of the Receiving and Recycling areas + Assures the proper storage and use of cleaning supplies and chemicals + Replenish and stock products throughout the facility as needed + Sweeps and mops work areas as needed + Shovels snow and applies salt to entrances/exits and walkways Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications QUALITIES + Ability to effectively communicate with vendors and faculty + Strong attention to detail + Able to work independently, as well as part of a team + Take initiative, anticipate, prioritize, adjust, and follow tasks through to completion + Successfully operate within deadlines + Use creative problem-solving skills + Adhere to company, department and State guidelines as directed + Handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately + Predictable and reliable attendance EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE + High school graduate or equivalent; previous receiving or stocking experience preferred but not required, janitorial experience; familiarity with general maintenance procedures, tools and/or equipment. Must possess a valid driver's license. PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND DEMANDS + Heavy lifting, up to 50 lbs.; constant standing, bending, and walking; exposure to temperature extremes, slippery surfaces, congested work areas, and potentially dangerous equipment, tools and machinery; exposure to various types of food and chemicals. Must have valid NYS driver's license.
