This role is critical to ensuring the accurate and timely receipt, inspection, and organization of solar products and electrical supplies. The ideal candidate has strong warehouse experience, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive mindset. Reports to: Tony Ellis Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or vocational training preferred 3+ years experience in a warehouse, distribution, or inventory management role Familiarity with solar energy products and electrical components a plus Strong leadership and team coordination skills Ability to lift 50+ lbs and operate forklifts or pallet jacks (certification preferred) Proficiency with inventory software and basic computer applications (Excel, email, scanners) Preferred Qualifications: Experience with solar distribution or electrical supply chain ERP systems knowledge (e.g., NetSuite, SAP) OSHA safety training or certification Working Conditions: Warehouse Environment: Work primarily takes place in a warehouse setting, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures depending on the season. Ventilation is provided, but conditions may be warm in summer and cooler in winter. Physical Demands: Frequent lifting (up to 50–75 lbs), bending, standing, walking, and climbing ladders. Use of hand trucks, forklifts, and pallet jacks is routine. Equipment Use: Regular use of warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, shrink wrap machines, and barcode scanners. Must follow all safety and PPE requirements. Noise Level: Moderate noise typical of a warehouse with occasional loud noises from equipment or deliveries. Schedule: Full-time, typically Monday–Friday during business hours (e.g., 7 AM – 4 PM or 8 AM – 5 PM). Occasional overtime or early shifts may be required based on delivery schedules or inventory audits. Team Interaction: Daily collaboration with warehouse associates, drivers, sales team, and branch management. May occasionally interface with vendors or delivery drivers. Safety Considerations: Must follow OSHA regulations and company safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques, PPE use, and hazard awareness for items such as solar panels, which can be large or fragile. Supervisory Responsibilities: No Essential Job Functions: Receiving & Inventory Control: + Oversee all incoming shipments of solar panels, inverters, racking systems, and electrical components + Inspect deliveries for accuracy, quality, and damage + Verify shipments against packing lists and purchase orders + Coordinate with the purchasing and sales teams to resolve discrepancies Stocking & Organization: + Ensure accurate labeling and storage of inventory items + Maintain organized, clean, and efficient warehouse zones for solar-specific products + Stock shelves and staging areas according to product type, rotation schedules, and safety protocols + Implement inventory rotation (FIFO/LIFO as needed) and manage shelf space optimization Team & Workflow Management + Maintain warehouse safety standards and ensure all staff follow company protocols + Monitor inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to purchasing Technology & Reporting: + Use warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP tools (e.g., NetSuite) for receiving and inventory tracking + Conduct periodic cycle counts and assist with full physical inventory audits + Generate inventory and receiving reports for branch management CED is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Disability | Veteran Compensation Range: The compensation range for this position is $40000 to $65000 annually.
