Summary/Objective Responsible for the handling of paperwork, checking loads, performing system operations, communicating with downstream departments, and performing other warehouse and receiving duties by following established operating procedures. Essential Functions Accept shipping documentation for deliveries. Separate paperwork and sign for receipt. Ensure accuracy of incoming shipments, comparing packing list/Bill of Lading to physical shipment. Communicate information downstream such as shortage parts or put-away information. Enter shipment/receipt information into system, match posted receipts to proper paperwork, and scan paperwork to appropriate parties. Work in conjunction with quality and put-away personnel, providing necessary information when needed. Competencies Must be able to work as a part of a team to achieve the company’s overall goals. Must demonstrate clear verbal and written communication skills (English). Must be able to read and process written communication including, but not limited to, work orders, frame prints, and measurements. Must be able to meet production goals and time deadlines for company projects. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Must demonstrate welding competency and knowledge of welding systems. Must be able to operate a Lift Truck or Tractor as necessary. Must possess successful problem-solving skills. Must be able to exhibit tact and diplomacy and maintain professional relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, customers, etc. Must be able to work under physically and mentally stressful situations. Must be able to prioritize and easily adapt to changes through the day. Supervisory Responsibility This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring. Physical Demands While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active – while performing this job the employee is regularly standing walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, balancing, reaching, handling, and climbing all day. The employee may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee works around moving mechanical parts, heavy equipment, and conveyer roller lines. The employee will work in outside weather conditions in all seasons. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. In addition, the employee may be exposed to dust, fumes, gases, noise, heat, cold, and wet work while performing job duties. This position requires Personal Protective Equipment such as work gloves, safety glasses, ear plugs, cut resistant sleeves, and seasonal gear which will be provided. Additional items required but not included are steel toed shoes or boots with metatarsal guards. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time hourly position, and hours of work and days are based upon the need to support operations and production. Some Saturdays will be mandatory. Travel There is no travel required for this position. Required Education and Experience High school degree or GED. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Preferred Education and Experience 1-3 months related work experience and/or training. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos preferred. Basic computer skills preferred.
