Description:

POSITION PURPOSE:

Under limited supervision, receives and distributes all purchases.  The patients served range in age from adolescent through older adult. Customers include:  co-workers, truck drivers, vendors, volunteers, physicians, patients and other medical personnel. Under limited supervision, performs those functions necessary for the distribution of supplies throughout the hospital.  Maintains an accurate inventory, following the process from receipt of the supply through distribution.  The patients range in age from adolescent through older adult.

What we are looking for:

High School graduate or equivalent required.Receiving experience preferred.Must be able to physically work in loading dock area.Maintains a professional, collaborative work environment so as to foster a positive public image for Mercy Medical Center. Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety and medical information (i.e. HIPAA, Stark, etc.).Must be able to perform mathematical problems and be clerically accurate.Must be able to work independently with little supervision.Performs receipt function by inspecting packaging for damage, checking packing slip against the item received, packing slip against purchase order and notifying Purchasing of discrepancies.Delivers purchases to appropriate department.Packages and ships outgoing items according to instructions provided.Fills, data enters and delivers bulk requisitions.Maintains clean and functioning work area, notifying Director of malfunctioning equipment.Takes an active role in improving quality of service provided by department.
