Job Summary

Responsible for the verification of incoming product characteristics, traceability data, batch documentation and other quality records, utilizing a range of inspection techniques and methods including, but not limited to visual, dimensional, mechanicals, automated, contact and non-contact. This responsibility will be discharged under the authority delegated by quality.

Job Responsibilities

•    Exemplifying a safety-first mind-set and ensuring that the GKN Aerospace Health, Safety and Environmental policies and standards are followed.
•    Responsible for performing inspection processes as described by the product work instructions and/or other directions.
•    Responsible for performing first article inspections in line with site operating policies, procedures and work instructions.
•    Responsible for material handling associated with the receiving and shipping processes: material staging and packaging outbound products.
•    Support root cause analysis, preventative and corrective action to reduce/eliminate non-conformances
•    Maintain positive, team relationships with internal and external customers, as well as co-workers
•    Support continuous improvement of production and inspection processes by implementing Lean initiatives
•    Responsible for creating work orders and travelers for shop floor procedures.
•    Responsible for receiving direct and indirect materials as needed. 
 

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
•    High School Diploma or GED equivalent
•    3+ years of experience in inspection methods, techniques, inspection equipment (calipers, micrometer, pi tape) and following relevant work instructions.
•    1+ years of experience with AS9100 series requirements.
•    1+ years of experience working with LEAN processes and practices.
•    Must have the ability to be certified to operate forklift.
•    Applicants must meet the following eye exam level, for at least one eye or when using both eyes together, natural or corrected.  A Minimum of Curpax N5, Jaeger #2, or equivalent for near vision and Snellen 20/30 or equivalent for far vision.  Have color vision with an average or normal (4 or 6 responses Titmus®, B&L, or AOC testing machines, or satisfactory response when tested with Ishihara or pseudoisochromatic plates).  Applicant must participate and pass this requirement annually.
     
 Preferred Qualifications:
•    GKN Experience
•    Experience in an Aerospace operating environment
•    Apprenticeship, Associate’s Degree in a technical subject or equivalent. 
•    Awareness of AS9100 series requirements.
 

Compensation Range

The compensation range for this position is between $22.00 - $24.00 per hour.
