This role in summary

The Receiving Lab Technician performs various jobs within the Receiving Inspection area. These include
routine inspection of incoming material, as well as following established procedures and guidelines to check,
test, and inspect raw materials. Compare the physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment,
and products to technical specifications to identify defects. Conduct basic tests (for example on electrical
function), record results, and prepare simple technical reports. Assigned responsibilities and duties vary as
business needs warrant.

Your responsibilities will include Routine inspection of purchased parts to verify conformance to requirements.Basic statistical analysis and reporting of results.Filing of supplier provided documentation, Certificate of Compliance, SPC (Statistical Process Control data, etc.Inspect samples of purchased InSinkErator manufactured parts from OSP (outside processing).Set-up and operate a wide variety of inspection and test equipment including Coordinate-measuring machine (CMM) with PC-DMIS software (Personal Computer Dimensional Measuring Interface Standard), optical comparator, and computer assisted precision measurement instruments.Maintain accurate records and report results, including nonconformances, per procedures.Cross-train others as needed based on ability.Work with equipment that assists with SPC activities.Minimum requirements High school diploma and additional technical courses/seminars in job related subjects3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment1 or more years’ experience with measuring parts.Ability to read and understand part drawings using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.Experience with using Microsoft Office programs.Ability to communicate well with all levels and functions of the organization.Preferred skills and experiences  ASQ Certified Quality Technician or other relevant certification.2 years of experience in Quality, Engineering or another related field.1 year experience with Minitab and programming CMM using PC-DMIS.2 years’ experience with inspecting parts.1 year experience with statistical studies and analysis and data acquisitions equipment.
