A Day in the Life Video 

 

Base Pay: $21.25 an hour.

 

The Material Handler is a member of the plant receiving department. Responsible for unloading delivery and storing materials and equipment. Operates a hydraulic forklift tractor, electric hoist, scales, and other equipment necessary to complete functions assigned. Obtains raw material samples and check weights as required. Maintains clean work area. Performs miscellaneous operations.

Punctuality and attendance are extremely important to the success of the operations in general as well as contributing to an overall positive team atmosphere. Dependable job attendance is expected.

Shift Information:

New hires would likely be placed onto 2nd shift; due to Union seniority 8 hours shifts:  2nd shift:  10 am- 6 pm

 

Work Environment: Findlay, Ohio Plant

The job is within a fast paced, heavy industrial environment and you may be required to work within various areas of the factory. The environmental conditions can be hot, cold, and noisy. Safety is our highest priority and safety procedures / guidelines must be always adhered to. This includes safety wear such as hearing and eye protection, protective clothing, and steel-toed shoes.

 

Job specific details include, but are not limited to:

Unloads, stores, and delivers all raw materials and related equipment used in process of rubber manufacturing inside the plant or between plants Unloads or loads rail box cars, trailers, tank or tank cars, and any other means of transportation Operates elevator, forklift tractor, and electric hoists and other types of equipment necessary to complete receiving functions and manual operations. Responsible for raw material samples and check weights as required by receiving procedure manual. Responsible for checking and refilling tractor fluid levels. Performs routine service checks of forklift and communicates problems to supervisor. Maintains good housekeeping in work area. Performs general miscellaneous duties required to operate efficiently in the receiving department

 

Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED Must be at least 18 years of age  Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future 

$1,000 sign on bonus. $250 will be paid to eligible employees after the completion of their first week of employment. The remaining $750 will be paid to eligible employees after the completion of 90 days of employment. Candidate must be a new employee and not a rehire to be eligible.
