Receiving Supervisor (B3)

The Jonestown, PA Distribution Center, a 218,000 sq. ft. refrigerated facility operating 24/7; is currently seeking a full time Supervisor to join our Receiving Department. The essential function of this position is to plan and organize the day to day receiving of produce within the distribution center and oversee the receipt, storage and transfer of goods in a safe and timely manner.
Shifts: Night Shift (6:00 pm - 5:30 am) working an alternating 3 day-4 day work week (Week 1 - Sun, Mon, Fri, Sat and Week 2 - Tues - Thurs) (equivalent to working approx. 15 days per month)
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for administering quality inspection of all incoming product and deliveries Complete understanding of USDA Quality guidelines and PACA rules/regulations pertaining to the proper receiving of inbound produce Supervises and oversees work of receiving department employees; Responsible for loading, counting and verifying inbound load Plans, assigns and reports department objectives; monitors status of incoming orders Communicate with commodity management and procurement on inbound quality issues Ensures quality, delivery, objectives roles and measure are met Trains staff and monitors performance and progress Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment Producing regular reports and statistics on daily, weekly and monthly basis Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary information, as well as other Company data, including personal information.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Proficient in the use of the English language with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally, present information, direction and field questions from managers, employees and external contacts High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associates/Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management, Supply Chain Management or related field, desired Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience is required Willingness to work independently, with minimal supervision and take ownership of job. A high degree of professionalism and personal integrity Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including extended workdays on different shifts. Familiarity of local, state and federal laws and requirements to maintain compliance to all relevant statues and guiding principles (FDA, USDA, MIOSHA, OSHA, CFIA) is desired Proficient in computer use skills (MS Office: Word/Excel/Outlook) Ability to properly manage time, equipment and staff Previous experience in production or food industry environment, preferred Operate a stand up forklift or can be trained to meet certification standardsWorking Conditions:
Ability to work in our refrigerated warehouse, 50° F temperature-controlled zones with background noise reaching up to 70 dB.
