To assist the Corps Officers with the day-to-day operations of the Corps while supporting and maintaining the policies, procedures, and overall well-being of the ministry of The Salvation Army. To render ministerial outreach and administrative services as The Receptionist to the Miles Park Community. To support and maintain smooth operations of the front office; serve as support staffing for the Corps Family Service Worker.
ResponsibilitiesFood Pantry
Intake all new clients for their need to participate in the program. Verifying income, residence, children, and adults living in the household. Ongoing re-verification for Food Pantry clients every six months at which time new verifications papers must be collected.Administration
Deal positively with outside vendors, clients, and donors, serving as the “voice” of The Salvation Army in the local service area.Answer telephones; providing clients with the necessary help and/or forward calls to appropriate staff/voicemails.Keep your work area clean and tidy. Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor.Work cooperatively with Corps Officer(s) and staff to ensure programming coverage.Do assigned tasks, such as filing, sorting and creation of publicity materials and correspondence.Assist with administration of seasonal programs (Christmas/Kettles/Back-to-School/Summer Youth).Perform administration tasks for other departments as requested by the Corps Officer(s).Keep the Corps Calendar up to date.Handle any other related duties, assigned by Supervisor.Social Services
Assist Family Intake Worker with related duties when needed, to ensure smooth office operation and program execution.Assist with proper intake/execution of the Hot Meals program; maintaining accurate attendance/meals counts.Assist with the execution of youth feeding program activities; working with volunteers as required.Provide client intake and/or forward calls to Family Services Worker Qualifications High School Diploma/GED with one to two years related experienceStrong organizational skills, ability to multi-taskKnowledge of community resourcesBasic Microsoft word, Excel, and data entry skillsSalvation Army Mission Statement
