Reconciliation & Control Associate
The purpose of this role is to ensure the proper accounting and reconciliation of departmental activities performed internally or by third party providers. Additionally, provide vendor oversight, support audit and regulatory reporting and tracking, and monitoring of the Trust custody and investment management activities. Essential Job Functions: + Perform daily reconciliations of transactional activity across the department, identifying potential exceptions or breaks. + Track exceptions through resolution, properly documenting issue details and other pertinent artifacts. + Work with cross functional teams, including third party vendors, to close out any exceptions in a timely manner with a focus on preventing aged items. + Ensure timely responses of third-party vendor inquiries specific to reconciliation related activities + Identify opportunities to improve reconciliation and daily proof processes. + Monitor departmental general ledger, suspense, and omnibus accounts. Ensure proper accounting over all entries and pass through transactions. + Work closely with department manager to track audit requests from internal and external auditors and regulators. Request information, as necessary, from other departments, Trust Operations personnel, and outside third parties. + Assist with benefit payment processing solution. This includes client requests, database reconciliation, transaction processing, process improvements, and other activities. + Provide general support to the Reconciliation and Control Manager as needed, including but not limited to research, resolving customer inquiries and other daily activities. + Perform other duties as directed. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements: + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience + 2-3 years of experience in reconciling cash or position + Have a natural curiosity and demonstrated ability to problem solve complex issues + Strong analytical background + General knowledge of securities industry’s + Knowledge of the general accounting principles, reconcilement process and operational activities preferably in the custody and/or investment management space. + Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills + Advanced excel skills – e.g. vlookups, pivot tables. Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is between $58,500.00 – $70,000.00. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
