Record Processing Technician - HIM - Full Time / D
This position is responsible for retrieval of medical records from all patient care areas and assists in making old records available for patient care areas and ancillary dept. requestors. Provider of phone coverage in the HIM dept. Preps all patient types as needed following prepping guidelines and standards. Ensures all loose documents are made a part of the medical records. This position scans documents using CPDI system and ensures document legibility and formatting. Performs quality control ensuring each page of the paper record is visible in the CPDI system and is in the appropriate order. Validation of all medical records is also done to ensure all pages of the record are named properly and indexed to the correct patient with the goal of legible, complete, and accurate medical records for all patient types. Responsible for proper use and cleaning of the scanning equipment and communicating problems to the HIM Record Processing Coordinator. Reports directly to the HIM Operations Manager. **Education REQUIRED** : High school graduate or GED. **Experience REQUIRED:** One year office experience working with automated systems, or computers entering data or executing data searches. Basic computer knowledge.
