Kadiak LLC, a subsidiary of Koniag Government Services, is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Records Management Specialist I to join our team. This role is responsible for performing various duties related to records management, including data entry, barcoding, filing, scanning, mail handling, customer service, and document processing. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of a high school diploma, at least one year of office, records, or computer experience, and the ability to work in both paper and electronic production environments. **Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:** **The Records Management Specialist I will be responsible for:** + Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of records and information. + Assign and apply barcodes to physical records and documents for tracking and identification purposes. + File and retrieve paper records and documents following established filing systems and procedures. + Scan and digitize paper documents, ensuring accurate indexing and organization within electronic document management systems. + Handle incoming and outgoing mail, including sorting, distributing, and maintaining proper records and logs. + Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders, responding to inquiries and requests related to records management. + Process and prepare documents for various purposes, such as archiving, destruction, or distribution, following established protocols and procedures. + Maintain the organization and cleanliness of record storage areas, ensuring proper labeling and accessibility. + Assist with inventory and audit activities related to records management.• Adhere to all applicable records management policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring the confidentiality and security of sensitive information. **Requirements:** **Education:** + High school diploma or equivalent. + Ability to obtain a Public Trust **Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:** + Minimum of 1 year of office, records, or computer experience. + Ability to work in both paper and electronic production environments. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling and processing records and documents. + Proficient in using computer systems, software, and applications related to records management. + Excellent organizational and time management skills. + Ability to follow established procedures and protocols accurately. + Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and colleagues. + Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds, bend, stretch, and push fully loaded mail carts. + Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality and security of sensitive information. **Desired Skills and Competencies:** + Experience with electronic document management systems and scanning technologies. + Familiarity with records management best practices and industry standards. + Knowledge of barcoding and tracking systems for physical records. + Basic understanding of data entry and database management principles. + Proficiency in using office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite). + Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
