We have an exciting opportunity for a Recovery Motivator who has the skills and experience to assess and engage with our service users, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs.  

 

Recovery Motivators are anticipated to be people who are themselves in recovery in respect of drug or alcohol use or people who have experience of living with drug or alcohol misuse within their family, who would like others to benefit from their experience.

 

The main function of the Recovery Motivator role will be to be a welcoming and consistent face in the open access reception area and signpost service users within Mansfield communities to relevant support agencies.

 

Recovery Motivators will work with those who are directly impacted by their own experience of misuse and the people who care for them, family members and friends; as well as working with key partners to empower communities.

 

No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key. 

 

Where: Mansfield

Part Time Hours: 12.5 hours per week

Full Time Salary: £23,497.50 - £24,466.99 dependent on experience, pro rata for part time

Responsibilities

Recovery Motivators will:

Work as part of the Mansfield Service to build relationships that assist service users and the wider community to address the harm caused by drug and alcohol misuse.Draw on their own knowledge and experience to enable and encourage individuals to access specialist advice and support.Work alongside others in the community; either with established groups or creating new groups.Develop Mutual Aid and Peer Support links. Complete training to develop their skills and abilities to develop and gain knowledge of the Recovery Motivator role.Share knowledge with the wider team and the Community.

About you: 

 

Have a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience of working within a similar field Experience of working with groups/pods and managing group dynamics, such as conflict or challenging behaviour. Be an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skills Proactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skills Have a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practice Be a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholders Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users Understand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguards Seek out learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills and to contribute and oversee the learning and development of others
