Recovery Navigator

Schedule: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm occasional nights possible for events 

Salary: $22.12 / hour

The Recovery Navigator will provide support and act as a mentor to youth and young adults (YYA) to make positive life changes to support the person's own recovery journey. The Recovery Navigator assists the YYA in developing recovery strategies, connecting to community-based and recovery-oriented resources. The Recovery Navigator has a genuine and accurate understanding of the developmental needs of young adults; the feelings, physical characteristic and emotional challenges experienced in early recovery from an opioid use, stimulant use, or other substance use disorder and/or co-occurring disorder(s).

Responsibilities include:

Providing substance use disorder (SUD) support onsite as needed at each Young Adult Access Center receiving this funding. This includes on site mentoring utilizing strategies grounded in motivational interviewing and the ability to make referrals to local providers. Enhancing accessibility to the Access Center for youth and young adults in recovery within the communities served. Providing a variety of meaningful, engaging and developmentally appropriate activities, and an environment of support to youth and young adults with a recognized substance use disorder (SUD). Providing effective, equitable, understandable, and respectful quality care and services that are responsive to diverse cultural beliefs and practices, preferred languages, health literacy and other communication needs. Leading groups including but not limited to facilitating Substance Use Recovery groups; participates in Access Center collaboration learning opportunities including trainings; as well as provides information and linkage to substance use treatment. Working as a team with the Access Center Youth Peer Mentors and Transition Facilitators to meet the co-occurring needs of Youth and Young Adults (YYA); co-facilitate YYA Advisory Groups Providing outreach to and supports the YYA to make positive life changes and developing skills to achieve and maintain recovery.
