Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the 47th Force Support Squadron, located at the Losano Fitness center on Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, Texas. This position is considered Flexible. This position is guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours but can work up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. You may be required to work nights, weekends and holidays. As a flexible employee, you are not eligible for leave or benefits. Responsibilities Performs as a Lifeguard at the Losano Swimming Pool during hours of operation. Supervise patrons as they use the pool. Rescues swimmers in trouble, administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance and transport of swimmer to medical facilities if needed. May also greet visitors, answers telephones and take reservations. Inspect equipment for damages. Perform the open and closing procedures of the facilities. Ensures authorized patrons use the facility and equipment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience and knowledge of swimming activities, rules, procedures and skill in the use of various pool and safety equipment. Must possess a current American Red Cross Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and American Red Cross Lifeguard certification prior to hire. Must be able to read, speak, and write English and communicate effectively with patrons. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
