Summary About the position: This position is located at the Outdoor Recreations, Yokota AB, Japan. This is Regular Part time Position Minimum 20 Hours per week. Responsibilities Performs a variety of duties, including, but not limited to: 1.Assist in the operation and maintenance of aquatics and outdoor recreation programs and events. 2.Establish schedules for activities and enforce rules and regulations to ensure participant safety and program quality. 3.Set up and maintain gym lockers, skate parks, and recreational areas for events, training sessions, and competitions, while adhering to relevant rules and procedures. 4.Conduct safety checks on aquatics and outdoor recreation facilities to ensure they are well-maintained and meet operational standards. 5.Demonstrate the use of equipment and techniques for various outdoor activities, including camping, swimming, skateboarding, skiing/snowboarding, and boating. 6.Coordinate space rental and recreational equipment scheduling, ensuring proper use and return in acceptable condition. 7.Promote programs and events by collaborating with the Marketing and Publicity office to advertise services and engage the community. 8.Collect and maintain records of patron participation, fees, and program performance for aquatics and outdoor recreation activities. 9.Ensure cleanliness and organization of facilities, including pool areas, outdoor spaces, and perform housekeeping duties as needed. 10.Provide customer service by answering inquiries, resolving minor issues, and escalating complex concerns to the appropriate supervisor. 11.Assist in inventory management, ensuring adequate supplies and materials. 12.Perform other related duties as assigned. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Experience or practical knowledge which provides understanding of recreational activities, rules, and procedures; and the skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties. Must have experience which demonstrates the ability to act independently with minimal supervision. Must possess the ability to research problems/projects and analyze data accurately and with attention to details in order to resolve problems. Must possess the ability to deal with the public, co-workers, and supervisors in a calm and professional manner. Must be able to use Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets proficiently. Familiarity with the operations of an ODR/aquatics facility is preferred. Must receive CPR/AED and First Aid certification within 90 days of employment. Must be available to work an uncommon tour of duty, to include weekends and holidays. Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1 Level) is required. Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution in order to qualify. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation. All Federal NAF employees are required by PL 104-134 to have salary payments made by electronic funds transfer/direct deposit. Probationary period may be required. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from hiring preferences and priority consideration eligible.
