Summary This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Sports and Fitness Division (N921); Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Fleet and Family Readiness Support Services (N94); Commander, Navy Region Hawaii, at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JBPHH), Honolulu, HI. The purpose of this position is to provide customer service to patrons as well as to perform a variety of duties in support of the MWR Sports and Fitness program at the Navy Marine Golf Course. Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: Performs and/or assists in the operation of the recreation activity. Based on established policies, incumbent carries out assigned phases of designated activity applying an understanding of the interest and needs of the program participants. Typical assignments may include: establishing schedules of events; applying rules and regulations in supervising assigned youth participants in indoor and outdoor activities; setting up gymnasium and playing fields for sports events; scheduling and conducting tours and field trips. Demonstrates procedures common to the activities and instructs in the use of related equipment. Helps to plan and coordinates details of recreational activities and maintains related supplies. Assists in planning, scheduling and publicizing various activities to attract and motivate participants. May oversee sale of retail items associated with activities. Ensures adherence to safety rules and regulations. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs. ???????A qualified candidate must possess: One to two years' experience in a related recreational activity. (Qualifications applicable to the specialization may be established locally). Must have strong customer service skills. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Physical Demands Work may require considerable physical exertion while instructing or guiding participants in a variety of activities. Work may require sitting, walking, long periods of standing, bending and lifting of moderate heavy items up to 40 pounds, occasionally required to lift heavier items. Work may require lifting items various supplies and athletic equipment. Position may require irregular working hours. Incumbent may be required to work evenings and weekends. Work Environment Work performed both indoors and outdoors, without a fixed schedule. Incumbent may be required to work early, late, and on weekends and holidays when the need arises. Incumbent is subject to recall regularly. Incumbent wears protective clothing and equipment as situations warrant. Education This position does not have a positive education requirement. Additional Information Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Executive Order 12564 requires a Federal workplace free of illegal drugs.
