Summary This position is located at Pililaau Army Recreation Center in Waianae, Hawaii (Island of Oahu). This position is eligible for Sunday Premium as applicable. Responsibilities Serves as lifeguard for a waterfront property and works under the direction of the Installation Program Manager and head lifeguard. Rescues swimmers and administers first aid as trained, and responds to medical emergencies throughout the property. Provides information to swimmers regarding safety rules and procedures and when necessary, tactfully warns patrons who repeatedly disregard safety rules. Attends waterfront and/or safety training as directed. Keeps area clean and free from any hazards. Employs safety rules and rescue techniques for the protection of the waterfront guests. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: 1. Must currently hold the following certifications*: Waterfront Lifeguard Certification CPR/AED Certification Oxygen Administration Certification First Aid Certification 2. Must be willing to obtain First Responder Certification within six (6) months of hire date. *All certifications MUST be uploaded and received at time of application submission. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
