Summary This position is located at: Fort Campbell, KY Outdoor Recreation. This is a "Flexible" position (0-40 hours per week) with no eligibility to participate in the NAF Employee Benefits Plans. Responsibilities Instructs groups and individuals in a variety of outdoor recreation programs, such as but not limited to rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, challenge course. Teaches children as well as adults. Incumbent is responsible for group management. The safety of the participants must always be the number one priority. Must be familiar with all programs offered by Outdoor Recreation, as well as be familiar with local area as the position requires providing information to customers. Reports any problems to the Outdoor Recreation Manager or Recreation Specialist as soon as possible in order to maintain a high quality service to guests. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Qualification Requirements are: Must have knowledge of and experience in a wide variety of Outdoor Recreation pursuits. Applicants meeting the following will be considered Highly Preferred: Pursuing a degree in Recreation Management, Outdoor Recreation, or a related field, and in the process of completing an internship or fieldwork program. Possesses the ability to communicate effectively in group settings Possesses experience in providing clear direction and guidance to team members Proficient in basic computer operations Possesses a demonstrated capability to work collaboratively within a team **Applicants that meet the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred to management for consideration first. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.
