Summary This position is located at Tronsrue Marksmanship Center. Responsibilities Executes range facility opening, closing, and operating procedures in accordance with installation, local, and federal laws. Instructs patrons on range safety practices, and provides general firearm and marksmanship information. Ensures proper handling storage, accountability, inventory of ammunition, and vault security. Issues ammunition and range related accessories to customers, checks ID, and collects fees. Directs patrons; schedules use of ranges; conducts briefings; and monitors patrons. Coordinates league, competition, and group functions. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Must have experience firing range operations and firearm safety and possess work experience which involved dealing with the general public. Cashier skills. Must be able to obtain current Installation Range Certification Card, National Rifle Associate (NRA) Range Safety Officer Certification, or equivalent certification within 60 days of entrance on duty. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies: knowledge, skills, abilities, additional screening criteria and other characteristics as listed above. It is recommended that all of the above be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position. HIGHLY PREFERRED are applicants who possess the minimum qualifications above AND: Instructor level certification(s) in Pistol and/or Rifle from a recognized national governing body (e.g. NSSA, NRA, NACFI, etc.) Possess knowledge in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Word ETC). Possess knowledge in the Rectrac System The certification(s) above must be reflected on your resume AND your certification uploaded at the time of application to be considered a highly preferred candidate. LAUTENBERG AMENDMENT: This position requires that the incumbent meet initial and continuing qualifications in the use of firearms as outlined in the Gun Control Act of 1968, amended by the Lautenberg Amendment of 1996. Any person who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence cannot lawfully possess a firearm or ammunition {Title18, U.S.C., Section 922(g)(9)}. A "misdemeanor crime of domestic violence" is generally defined under the statute, as any offense involving the use or attempted use of physical force, or the threatened use of a deadly weapon, committed by the victim's current or former domestic partner, parent or guardian. The term "convicted," as defined in the statute, excludes any person whose conviction has been expunged, set-aside, or pardoned, or any person whose civil rights have been restored unless the pardon, expungement or restoration of civil rights expressly prohibits the possession of firearms or ammunition. Candidates who have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence within the meaning of the referenced statute are not qualified for this position. Candidates under consideration will be required to certify whether they have ever been convicted of such an offense. False or fraudulent information proved by candidates is criminally punishable by fine or imprisonment, [Title 18, U.S.C., Section 1001]. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
