Summary This position is located at the Army Community Recreation Division at Victor Constant Ski Area. Responsibilities Responsible for all mountain safety activities such as opening and closing trails, removing, reporting and marking hazards and reporting trail conditions. Performs trail checks, responds to accidents, provides emergency medical care necessary to pass the patient to the next level of care, assists with mountain rescue including lift evacuation and transport. Ensures first aid supplies and equipment are maintained and available at all times. Efficiently and safely provide direct patient care; including determining the nature of injury, equipment needed for stabilization and transport. Ensures patrons are authorized users of the facility. Uses tact and diplomacy to deny entrance to unauthorized personnel or to remove those not adhering to rules and policies. Maintains assigned area in a clean and orderly manner. Assesses and mitigates hazards and safety concerns within the ski area while maintaining ski area signs, ropes and padding. Ensures compliance with fire, safety and security standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications 1. Must be able to ski/snowboard at an advanced level to perform a mountain rescue and transport on the most difficult terrain. 2. Must have experience that demonstrates a comprehensive practical knowledge of all facets of ski patrolling. 3. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills. 4. Must be able to lift 50 pounds. The above experience must be reflected on your resume to be considered eligible for this position. HIGHLY PREFERRED are applicants who possess the minimum qualifications above AND: 1. Possession of, and ability to maintain a First Aid certification from the American Red Cross or other nationally recognized equivalent. Proof of certification will be required prior to appointment. PCS Costs Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
