Summary This position is located at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu Hawaii on the Island of Oahu. Night differential is authorized per Garrison Commander's pay policy. Responsibilities Acts as water safety instructor. Manages all swimming lessons and instructs when scheduled, at the assigned aquatics facility. Develops swim program according to students' ability and promotes students to higher level of swimming according to their skills. Instructs all levels of swimming with the appropriate strokes, to include front crawl, back crawl, elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke and butterfly. Teaches students from age groups of infants through adults. Introduces and instructs safety and survival skills to students, when appropriate to level of instruction. Instructors work with lifeguards to ensure that swim lessons are safe at all times. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Minimum Qualification Requirements: Work experience that aligns with the responsibilities outlined above and of the following certifications: - Water Safety Instructor Certification - Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) - First Aid Certification **Resume MUST clearly reflect the knowledge and experience listed under the minimum qualifications criteria above. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differentials This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
