As a part of our team, you will assist in planning and organizing activities, events, and programs for all ages, while ensuring smooth operations at the North Fort Myers Recreation Center. You will be working with a supportive team to create a fun and positive experience for everyone involved. Duties and Responsibilities + Customer Service: Assist visitors, handle inquiries, and manage daily membership registrations and payments. + Program & Event Management: Help organize and implement youth and adult programs, camps, special events, and activities. + Records & Reporting: Maintain files, process invoices and payments, update databases, and generate reports. + Scheduling & Reservations: Book room rentals and special events, and manage the online recreation system (RecTrac). + Marketing: Create promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, and newsletters to advertise programs and events. + Facility Management: Open and close the center, secure the facility, and handle cash transactions with attention to detail. Perform light cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning restrooms. + Team Collaboration: Work with volunteers, contracted instructors, and staff to ensure smooth operations for programs and events. Education, Experience, Licensing Required Qualifications: + High school diploma or GED with at least one year of experience in clerical, technical, or customer service-related work (e.g., filing, office equipment, preparing reports, database management). + First Aid and CPR certification (must be completed within 6 months of hire). + Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. Preferred Qualifications: + One year of experience in parks and recreation. + Six months of experience working with large groups of children. + Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus. Supplemental Information + Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, managing over 30 transactions per hour. + Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with the public and colleagues from diverse backgrounds. + Proficiency with computers and software programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher; Canva and RecTrac are preferred). + Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle customer concerns with professionalism and courtesy. + Basic math skills and experience with cashier-type transactions (credit card, checks, refunds, deposits). + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as setting up and breaking down events, cleaning, and working outdoors. + Work Schedule: + The work schedule will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
