The Recreation Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing a comprehensive program of recreational activities for the residents of the Southern Utah Veterans Home. The Recreation Director will work closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure that the recreational needs of the residents are met.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive program of recreational activities for the residents of the Southern Utah Veterans Home. Coordinate and schedule recreational activities with other departments and outside organizations. Ensure that all recreational activities are safe, appropriate, and meet the needs of the residents. Supervise and train recreational staff and volunteers. Maintain accurate records of recreational activities and resident participation. Develop and manage the recreational budget. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and provide input on resident care plans. Ensure that all recreational equipment and supplies are properly maintained and stored. Stay current with trends and best practices in recreational therapy. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in recreational therapy or related field. Minimum of two years of experience in recreational therapy or related field. Experience working with older adults and individuals with disabilities. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Current certification as a recreational therapist preferred.
