Description of Work Unit
The Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands ( CEMML ) is a research, education and service unit within the Warner College of Natural Resources at Colorado State University ( CSU ). CEMML applies the latest and most appropriate science to promote the sustainable management of natural and cultural resources on Department of Defense (DoD) and other public lands. We provide technical support, conduct applied research, and offer career development and learning opportunities to support resource stewardship. We collaborate with our sponsors and within CSU to resolve complex environmental issues, leaving a legacy of science-based decisions that sustain our resources for future generations.

Position Summary
A Recreation Administration Program Support position is available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands. This position is located at Avon Park Air Force Range, Florida. Primary responsibilities will be to assist in administration of the public hunting and recreation program.
This is a full-time salaried position, but work hours are variable, beginning as early as 4:30 a.m. and ending as late as midnight. Workdays can include weekends and holidays.
Required Job Qualifications
+ B.S./B.A.; or High School Diploma, General Education Development ( GED ), or equivalent – with a minimum of three years relevant experience.
+ Experience with hunting and recreation regulations and permitting.
+ Experience with interaction with the public in an official capacity.
+ Experience with supporting administrative functions in an office setting such as data entry, collecting and organizing information, answering phones, stocking and maintaining office facilities and equipment,, and assisting staff and customers.
+ Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license by the employment start date.
+ The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. by proposed start date; CEMML will not provide visa sponsorship for this position
+ Position may require work on early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.

Sell and process recreation permits (hunting, fishing, hiking, camping…etc.) according to standard operating procedures. Check incoming recreation users for compliance with regulations and maintain use records. Assure that users have proper permits and maintain use records. Assure that users have proper permits and vehicle passes to use recreational areas. Provide safety briefing and inform applicants of regulations. Answer phones and provide accurate information about recreation.
