Overview Full time 40 hours/week | Days Assesses, plans and implements recreational therapy approaches and assists in outcome evaluation of psychiatric and/or substance abuse patients. Works with patients and families within an interdisciplinary team model. Provides therapeutic, educational activities utilizing individual and group modalities. Responsible for documentation in accordance with JCAHO and hospital standards. Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelors degree in Recreation Therapy, Activities Therapy, Expressive Therapy, Physical/Personal Trainer, Exercise Science/Physical Education or related field required. Demonstrated knowledge and skill in a broad range of therapy services, preferred. Previous experience with patient population preferred. Knowledge of regulatory accreditation standards is preferred. Has strong communications skills. Demonstrated knowledge and appreciation of the disciplines represented on a multidisciplinary treatment team. A history of working collaboratively and effectively within the team paradigm. Basic computer literacy in Windows and word processing applications preferred. Certification in R.T. preferred. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a frequent driver Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist preferred.
