Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health Hospital (CABHH) in Willmar has an opening for a Recreation Therapist (RT) to work with kids receiving inpatient psychiatric treatment. We provide mental health services for children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 6-18) with serious behavioral and emotional conditions. Develop therapeutic relationships and engage with patients while prioritizing safety and aiding patients in progressing with their treatment plan goals and objectives. Maintain and provide a safe, clean, and therapeutic work environment for treatment. Recreation therapy utilizes leisure activities to provide individuals the opportunity to acquire knowledge, skills, and attitudes that promote meaningful leisure involvement. The RT is responsible for providing therapeutic recreation services to patients including assessing leisure/recreational needs, creating interventions, preparing recreation participation opportunities, and evaluation of service delivery outcomes. The RT is accountable for the safety and effectiveness of the recreation therapy service delivery process. The RT performs additional duties related to planning special activities, equipment and supply management, and program development and quality improvement projects at the site level as requested. **Minimum Qualifications** **Recreation Therapist** + Two years of experience conducting recreation therapy programs, facilitating recreation activities in a healthcare or education setting or working in a mental health, substance use disorder, and/or sex offender specific treatment setting in a direct care position. * A Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Park/Recreation & Leisure, Physical Education, Social Work, or Psychology may substitute for 1 year of experience **Preferred Qualifications** + A Bachelor’s degree in Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Park/Recreation & Leisure, Physical Education, Social Work, or Psychology + National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification **Additional Requirements** To facilitate proper crediting, please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicates the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.
