(https://youtu.be/EfcSTg\_GGvQ) Job Overview: As a Recreational Therapist, you will complete assessments, interventions, and treatment for patients in consultation with the multidisciplinary teams based on the patient’s leisure needs, social and coping skill deficits, barriers and community needs. The Recreation Therapist will also work with their assigned unit to develop unit-based programming to specifically meet the needs of the patient population, as well as, facilitate psycho-educational and leisure based groups on the Harbor Mall (a specific area of the hospital for this type of therapy). This position may be responsible for training and supervision of paraprofessional staff. Requirements: Ability to observe and evaluate client participation and response to therapeutic recreation programming. Ability to effectively communicate with clients, their families, and professional and paraprofessional staff. Ability to organize, supervise, and implement a therapeutic recreation program. Ability to train and supervise paraprofessional subordinates. Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelors Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Therapy, or related field AND certification from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation as a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist OR one (1) year experience in a therapeutic recreation program.
