Position Purpose:
Join our team to plan, develop, and implement engaging therapeutic recreational activities for participants, including those with Alzheimer's and related dementia. Be a part of a dedicated team, drive quality improvement, and ensure exceptional care within the recreation department.
What You Will Do:
Lead, mentor, and support recreation assistants and staff to ensure high-quality recreational therapy services.Plan and deliver individual and group activities that enhance cognitive, physical, and social well-being, including arts, exercise, outings, and special events.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess and address the therapeutic needs of participants.Oversee daily operations of the recreation department, including staff assignments, budgets, and equipment needs.Maintain accurate documentation, track participant progress, and ensure regulatory compliance.Promote a warm, caring environment while fostering teamwork across departments.Minimal Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Therapy or related field; NCCAP Activity Professionals Certification preferred.At least 2 years of experience in therapeutic recreation with a geriatric population.Experience working with elderly or frail individuals.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and manage multiple tasks.Position Highlights & Benefits:
