Recreational Manager

Assists General Manager in overseeing all aspects of Recreation’s operations and amenity areas, including activities and relationships between vendors, contractors, residents and guests. Ensures revenue production and solid financial performance of property. Assist key managers in self-development, by managing to Troon Standards and by achieving financial success of various recreations entities.
 

Essential Duties:
• Assists General manager in overseeing the day to day operations of the recreational amenities including F&B, Maintenance, Tennis, Spa & Fitness, pool, membership, Building Maintenance, and G&A departments.
• Collaborates and assists key managers with developing and achieving business and operating plans.
• Participates in the creation of events and menus to entice variety of appetites, for both Café and Cabana Bar.
• Attends weekly meetings when appropriate, as well as weekly department head and other key manager meetings. Chairs meetings as needed.
• Attends periodic and various member committee meetings.
• Updates and oversees implementation of policies and procedures for multiple departments, including compliance with all company standards.
• Monitors overall club(s) safe-work practices and coordinates ongoing safety education programs.
• Oversees the care and maintenance of all Recreational physical assets. Helps to coordinate maintenance efforts of all buildings.
• Audits all inventories to assess control reliability. Identifies opportunities to control product costs and other expenses.
• Prepares and monitors quarterly revenue goals and expenses as well as generating various (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual) business volume reports and updating forecasts.
• Monitors business volume forecast in each department and advises changes to plans or programs, in areas of work force, productivity, COS, operating costs and other elements.
• Assists General Manager in monitoring success of all departments and department associates, including annual performance reviews, as needed.
• Assists in interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work at all levels, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates, addressing complaints, resolving problems and reliable attendance.

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree (BA); or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Multi-course facilities may require more experience).

Physical Demands:
• Regularly stands, walks and sits. Occasionally may climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, and crouches, tastes or smells. Regularly uses hands to finger, feel or handle, reaches with arms and hands, talks or hears. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.
Environment/Noise
• Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.
 

Certificates/Licenses:
• CMAA member, GCSSA membership preferred.
 

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
• Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
• Knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
