Position Summary
Supervise and deliver the youth center programs and activities as assigned by Facility Director.
Essential Functions
Facilitating a high energy day-to-day activity in the ongoing of the after-school programming including games, team building activities, teaching relevant skills, tactics and techniques of all sports. Be creative and flexible, especially in problem solving, and conflict resolution among youth members during sport activities and sport clinics. Exemplify being a positive role model in coaching conduct and appearance. Assist and/or implement the sports leagues with youth and adults. Will serve as a backup in the absence of locker room attendant to assigned dressing room facilities, locker space or clothing containers, and supplies to members and guests. and conduct daily safety checks of locker room areas Assist at Front Desk reception in Monitoring entrance and account for all members, visitors and parents entering the facility. Maintain all personnel, members and other information work related CONFIDENTIAL. Record statistics of assigned program activities and submit them to the Program Director daily. Maintain safety and proper conduct of all members and volunteers by constantly being aware of potential dangers and correcting behavior even if not assigned to that specific area. Maintains constant surveillance of members/guests in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of members and guests in the event of emergency. Report all accidents, behavior reports and facility safety concerns to the Program Director, immediately. Primary focus on developing leadership and life skills for high school students, mentoring through team building coalition for teens ages 13-18yrs for Leo’s Club and Community Leadership. Program should bring together 40+ students from local communities and local schools. Prepare monthly workshops for college prep, stay on top of annual scholarship and grant workshops and opportunities to participate in civic engagements/activities. Attend yearly off-site camps and plan college visits. Perform any duties as needed to maintain the safety and the ongoing flow of the youth center. Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have an up to date CPR card. High School Diploma At least one year of one Sport and Recreational Activities Experience.Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
Driving Test and clean MVR check If working in vicinity of children a criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.
