Recreational Therapist

This position will be working on Thursdays 12pm-4pm, Fridays and Saturdays 9am-5:30pm.

This position provides a variety of therapeutic social, recreational and diversional events for clients. Conducts individual assessment to identify the clients' individual interests/needs. Develops and implements an appropriate variety of individual and group activities. Participates in interdisciplinary planning.  Coordinates recreation documentation for her/his assigned group of clients. Assists with training and supervising assigned volunteers and/or youth job program assistants/student interns and their activities. Leads facility wide client-directed events.

Required Qualifications:  

Associate's Degree. Two year college courses in Human Services or significant appropriate and relevant years of work experience may substitute for degree requirement. Washington Recreational Therapist Registration upon hire. National Provider BLS - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Therapy.     1 year providing recreation in the human services field. 1 year providing recreation in the human services field with the elderly or disabled.
