Position Summary:

The Recruiter focuses on effectively executing the interviewing/hiring process for shipboard positions.  The Recruiter is responsible for requisition and candidate management ensuring the effectiveness of the recruiting process, executing sourcing plans, overall sourcing tactics and providing insight to leadership regarding the talent market as well as seeking out opportunities for continuous process improvement. In collaboration with operational colleagues, the Recruiter effectively uses resources to attract, identify, screen, and hire the best talent globally in the most efficient manner.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for sourcing, screening, and interviewing for all positions within the assigned business units outlined which may include special projects, high volume and emerging talent. Works with hiring managers to review and understand the forecasted needs for talent acquisition, as well as responding to just-in-time requests. Manages various stakeholders in discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with management; based on a consistent set of qualifications as agreed at the start of the hiring process. Establishes recruiting requirements by studying organization plans and objectives; meeting with managers to discuss needs for Shipboard roles Previews, evaluates and selects appropriate talent directly and through various sources to meet the requirements of the departments and/or vessels' needs. Manages various stake-holders in discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; based on a consistent set of qualifications as agreed at the start of the hiring process. Executes sourcing strategies and methods to develop proactively talent pools that align with both the short and long-term needs of the business. Ability to meet hiring targets and metrics, reviews various productivity reports to measure the effectiveness of recruiting processes and strategies. Stays current with current market trends and adjust recruiting approach accordingly. Determines applicant quality and suitability by studying job description and job qualifications. Reviews, evaluates and selects appropriate talent directly and through various sources to meet the requirements of the departments and/or vessels' needs. Selects appropriate applicants to meet specific functional hiring and scheduling requirements. Interviews candidates to determine the individual's adaptability to the shipboard environment. Conducts regular review of interview questionnaires and revises it as appropriate to suit market/s handled Selects appropriate applicants to meet specific functional hiring and scheduling requirements Responsible for evaluating candidates using competency-based interviewing techniques and providing recommendations of best fit candidates to hiring managers and recruiters.  May also make hiring decisions for some entry level roles. Supports hiring managers with interview coordination as needed Ensures job description is shared to each candidate Communicates job offers to approved candidates in accordance with company policy. Travels to various international or domestic locations as needed to support recruitment events. Utilizes various reports and dashboards to monitor productivity, effectiveness, and overall candidate management for shipboard recruiting. Prepares various reports as required including, but not limited to, status reports, talent search reviews, and list of talent pools & gap pools for shipboard roles Manages own workflow and complies with recruitment SOPs maintaining documentation as per company policies and processes. Avoids legal challenges in various markets handled by understanding current legislation; enforcing regulations with managers; recommending new procedures; conducting training Establishes, develops and maintains relationships with a network of recruiting agencies, executive recruiters, and related sources that efficiently recruit management or professional employees in accordance with company policy and procedure Liaises with various HRSS representatives when appropriate, to ensure all hiring arrangements are correct

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in human resources and/ or business administration from an accredited college or university or the international equivalent preferred. Minimum 3-5 years relevant recruitment experience required.  Relevant recruitment experience, preferably in Hospitality industry preferred. Experience in high volume/ bulk recruiting a plus. Cruise industry experience preferred. Proven ability to source, interview and screen candidates (management, specialty and high volume roles) Demonstrated capability to recruit positions in various levels of the organization (entry to senior level) Demonstrated ability to apply judgment to ambiguous or out-of-policy situations; attention to detail and the ability to deal appropriately with confidential information Ability to negotiate terms and conditions with candidates within established guidelines. Ability to handle multiple projects and requisitions simultaneously. Strong project management and time management skills required. Ability to deal appropriately with confidential information. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to communicate tactfully, verbally and in writing, to gather and relay information in a multinational environment consisting of department heads, managers, and coworkers. Ability to productively work under tight time constraints with competing priorities and potentially stressful situations. Working knowledge of accepted human resources recruitment practices; ability to acquire knowledge of recruitment processes in various countries. Knowledge of world geography, time differences and demographic. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Ability to read, write and speak in English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, co-workers, and shipboard employees.
