The Job in a Nutshell:
Under the direction of the Recruiting Manager, the Recruiter is responsible for forecasting, sourcing, recruiting and interviewing for positions as assigned by NGVC stores, the Home Office and the Distribution Center. This position will assist with the implementation of recruiting initiatives that build bench strength, reduce turnover and ensure compliance with all application and federal state laws.
ResponsibilitiesMain Ingredients:
Provides support, training and direction to new staff membersManages new store recruiting processes to completionDevelops reports through multiple applications including Ulti Pro and iCims to determine trends and other information to assist with recruiting initiativesCoordinates job fairs in order to source potential store level candidates in high-needs marketsIdentifies quality and high potential candidates for store managementMeets regularly with the Recruiting Manager, VP of HR and Regional Managers to identify staffing needs Provides quality candidates to the Regional Managers for final selection of all Store Manager positions Assists Store Managers throughout the hiring process including background checks and any other pre-employment assessments Creates and presents innovative recruitment techniques, strategy and avenues including social media Reports weekly and monthly to the Recruiting Manager on staffing needs, turnover, trends, opportunities and other recruiting-related issues for his/her assigned areaCoaches Store Managers on quality interviewing and selection practicesAdopts stores, ensuring compliance with all recruiting and employment laws and regulationsSources for candidates using a variety of techniques including networking, advertising, job fairsPartners with Store Managers to address store level comments or concerns for better retentionCoordinates training needs by communicating with the Training Manager and Travel DepartmentsTravels up to 50% of the time on average, and as much as needed to meet company growth objectives

QualificationsRecipe for Success:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience is required3-5 years of experience recruiting exempt and non-exempt level candidatesField retail experience preferredStrong recruiting skills and ability to identify quality candidatesStrong knowledge of all relevant recruiting and employment laws and regulationsAbility to work independently; self-motivated Excellent understanding of the retail environmentAbility to effectively communicate with candidates and employees at every education level Proficient computer skills with ability to develop spreadsheets and reports to analyze division staffing needsExcellent collaboration and consensus building skillsStrong relationship-building/networking ability and excellent problem-solving and analytical skillsKnowledge and shared belief of Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage culture and valuesAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks for timely completion
